2012年1月1日-3日，美国康奈尔大学兽医学院Dwight D. Bowman教授应动物医学院2010-2011年国际合作交流项目邀请，来校进行了为期三天的访问交流。

　　3日下午，Dwight D. Bowman教授在动物医学院第一会议室就自己的研究兴趣方面围绕“The prevention and control of important parasitic zoonosis”主题分别作了“Obtaining a new isolate of A. braziliense without the need of necropsy”、“Capsule endoscopy of dogs for small bowel diagnostic imaging”、“Diagnosis of Cuterebriasis in cats using ELISA with crude Maggot-Derived Antigen”、“Survival Kinetics of Cryptosporidium oocysts in swine facility wastes of the Southern Piedmont and Coastal Plain”和“Toxocariasis in Eosinophil Deficient Mice”等学术报告，详细介绍了近年来实验室所从事的主要研究内容。部分相关专业的老师和来自动物医学院及其他学院的研究生及本科生100余人参加了报告会。会后，师生与Dwight D. Bowman教授就相关感兴趣的问题进行了讨论。

　　Dwight D. Bowman 教授是美国康奈尔大学兽医学院微生物学与免疫学系的教授，现为美国兽医寄生虫学家协会（American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists）主席。长期致力于兽医寄生虫学的教学与科研工作。出版的著作主要有：《Georgis Parasitology for Veterinarians》、《Feline Clinical Parasitology》等。其中，Dwight D. Bowman 教授主编的《Georgis Parasitology for Veterinarians》作为我院动物医学专业《兽医寄生虫学》双语教学的参考教材在使用。
